Qikiqtarjuaq is located in Davis Strait off the east coast of Baffin Island. It is known as the iceberg capital of the North. This rocky area is rich in marine mammal wildlife. Hunting and fishing are still important parts of daily life in this area. Right whale, ring and harp seals, Beluga whales, narwhal, walrus and Killer whales all inhabit the waters off Qikiqtarjuaq.
